We were delighted last week to have several students from the International Student Exchange program from Western Michigan University pay a visit to us in the Town Center. Together, we and the students shared conversation and ice cream as we learned a little bit about each other. The students were only here for three weeks, and wanted to enjoy opportunities to speak (in English) with a variety of American people while they were here. They were fascinated by stories of our residents’ lives here at The Fountains as well as prior to moving in. In exchange, we enjoyed learning about the students’ experiences, challenges, and what they have enjoyed most about visiting here. For many it was the food! Pizza, hamburgers and French fries seem to have made an impact. The students also helped us create origami objects and spelled out our names in Japanese for us.
