Centenarians Honored at Exclusive Ceremony

There are not many people who can claim to have been here on Earth before 1917, but in Kalamazoo County, it appears we have more than sixty centenarians! Fifteen such marvels were honored at a special luncheon at the Kalamazoo Country Club on April 20th, including three ladies from The Fountains at Bronson Place! Adelyn Boyce (102), Willie Heinig (101) and Leona Hefner (100) enjoyed lunch with congressmen and other dignitaries, and received tributaries for their service in so many areas over their lifespans. Not only that, but they were delighted to meet other residents of the county and chat about what life has been like for other centenarians. What a beautiful thing it was to see all of these men and women smiling from ear to ear as they enjoyed lunching and conversing for more than two hours in this fabulous Celebrate Elderhood event sponsored by The Area Agency on Aging & The Older Adult Services.
